This image was captured under a heavenly night sky of near perfect environmental and weather conditions. I travelled on my motorcycle to Acadia National Park on Mt. Desert Island in Maine, armed with a Nikon D810A (arguably the finest astrophotography camera ever made) with the sole intent of capturing the splendor of the Milky Way. I made my way out into the pitch black environment on the night of the new moon...the darkest night of every month. Mother Nature blessed me with crystal clear skies and light winds and the reward for my effort is seen here. Astrophotography is a very technically complex pursuit practiced by only a handful of skilled photographers. Even the most accomplished image makers must be blessed by the serendipitous nature of the universe we live in to be afforded the opportunity to capture an image such as this one. I am so grateful that "all the stars lined up" for me on this memorable night and I was able to make this wonderful photograph. My fine art photography works have become widely recognized as highly collectible and of investment quality caliber. My images are offered for sale in a number of prestigious fine art photography galleries in the United States and hang in numerous private collections worldwide. They are available artist-direct by using the contact page on this web site. The value of my photographic pieces are sure to increase in the years to come. If you appreciate my photographic art and would like to add an image to your personal collection, I would advise you to invest in your favorite pieces now.
