Motorsports Racing Photographer Assignment Stock Images

There is nothing quite like the sound and ground shaking sensation of an NHRA Mello Yello drag racing series nitro methane funny car launching from the staring line. Except maybe the same things felt and heard when a Top Fuel Dragster does the same thing. The picture seen here, taken while under assignment from a major international motorsports magazine publisher, is of racer Del Worsham leaving the starting line during the first round of qualifying at the NHRA Summernationals, held every year at the legendary drag strip Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ. While on this professional racing and motorsports assignment I had the opportunity to photograph the "big three"…Top Fuel Dragster, Funny Car and Pro Stock. I also covered extensively the Pro Stock Motorcycle class, as that was the subject of interest of the assignment I had received from the editor of the magazine I was hired to photograph for. Additionally I got to witness and photograph the Sportsman classes of NHRA drag racing including Super Stock, Stock, Comp, Super Comp, Super Gas, Top Dragster, Top Sportsman, Super Street, Pro Mod, Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car. Worsham stands out as the 1991 NHRA Rookie of the Year. Within a decade his team evolved from low-budget privateers to a two-car race team. He teams with father Chuck Worsham, his first and longtime racing partner. With their combined building, tuning and driving expertise, the Worshams shock no one when they appeared in a winner’s circle in 2017. Their one drawback, lack of sponsorship, has been filled by automotive giant, Lucas Oil Products. In addition to accepting freelance photography assignments for various motorsports and racing oriented magazines and internet racing news web sites, I also offer my racing images as stock photographs for lease by magazines, e-zines, news organizations, newspapers, advertisers, sponsors, etc, etc. Often time my images are used in advertising, editorial or public relations efforts of companies who’s names don’t even appear on the car. They are simply companies that are involved in the manufacture and/or distribution of automotive or motorcycle parts, high performance aftermarket parts and components, racing training facilities and programs, local tourism councils for communities nearby the tracks I travel to, and other somewhat unrelated clients. Whatever your needs are I am sure that I can help you meet your goals by providing exciting, colorful, dramatic imagery from the drag strip, the oval track or the road race course.
