Motorsports Racing Charitable Foundations Photography

The world of professional motorsports reaches further into the human experience than one usually recognizes. The entertainment value is obvious. Hundreds of millions of devoted fans show up or tune in to their favorite speed contests every year. The fearless drivers and riders that you see performing on the track are supported by a workforce of thousands of support members of the various racing teams. Team sponsors are heavily invested in the racing program which they use to enhance the visibility of their product or service in the eyes of the most loyal fan base in professional sports. An entire multi-million dollar industry surrounds the three and a half seconds it takes for a funny car to go down the quarter mile track. But after the dust settles and all the profits have been gathered the racing industry show another side of itself. It’s charitable side. Motor racing personalities have long been practicing the art of "giving back". NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series driver, Jimmie Johnson, has the Jimmie Johnson foundation, which is dedicated to assisting children, families and communities in need. The Foundation currently focuses on funding K-12 public education, primarily through the Jimmie Johnson Foundation Champions Grant program. Another NASCAR legend, Jeff Gordon, established the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation in 1999, primarily dedicated to accelerating childhood cancer research.  Since then, JGCF also has helped open the Jeff Gordon Children’s Hospital in Concord, N.C. and the Butaro Cancer Center of Excellence in Rwanda. The NHRA Funny Car pictured here is piloted by Jack Beckham and sports the logo of the Infinite Hero Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing critical funding to programs that combat the most difficult front line issues – mental and physical – facing returning military heroes and their families. If your driver, team or organization is involved in charitable work like this you probably have many needs for visual advertising, editorial and public relations needs. Give me a call, the photographer who understands the entire dynamic of a motorsports team, and how it touches it’s community, if I can help you out with your next project.
