This image was captured at the beautiful Lime Rock Park in Connecticut. It was taken during the Pirelli World Challenge event on Memorial Day Weekend of 2017. This beautiful McLaren GT4s is one of two McLarens fielded by the Volt Lighting Race Team. The Founder and CEO of Volt Lighting, the title sponsor for the team, said, "I chose the McLaren because of the balanced handling of its mid-engine platform. Combined with its excellent aerodynamics, stiff carbon fiber tub, and success in winning GT4 in Europe, I felt the McLaren gave us the best chance of winning. I feel very fortunate to be able to bring the great racing heritage of McLaren to the Continental Series." This photograph of one of the team’s cars was taken along the back straight of the Lime Rock circuit heading towards the "West Bend" turn. I used a motion blur effect to enhance the feeling of speed in this car which was traveling well in excess of 100 MPH when I captured it. The road race courses of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic are the tracks I visit most often. Lime Rock is certainly one of my favorite road racing courses to be sure, but I also love working at NHMS (New Hampshire Motor Speedway) in Loudon, NH; Watkins Glen International in the Finger Lakes Region of New York; Thompson Speedway in northern CT, New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, NJ and Pittsburgh International Raceway in Pennsylvania. In addition to my on track photography my experience as a portrait photographer has led to many assignments for public relations efforts of race teams and their sponsors. If you are looking for sports car or motorcycle road racing coverage in the northeast United States…or anywhere for that matter…give me a call. I am open for media assignments from all major motorsports magazines as well as for individual teams and/or sponsors.
