Collectible Fine Art Photography Female Figure Study"Afterglow". For the most part my body of fine art photographs are photo-realistic in nature....landscapes, seascapes, astrophotography, etc. I do have a few "abstract" pieces (for lack of a better word) and "Afterglow" is one of them. This image was visualized as one where the female form could be viewed as a landscape...perhaps as gentle rolling hills or a vista of distant sand dunes. A single model was photographed in my studio with a single light source. One image of the nude model was chosen and her figure was retouched to my liking. This image is actually a composite of two identical images with one of the images "flipped" horizontally in the digital darkroom to create the two mirror images of the same subject. The final image was processed in a vintage sepia toned effect adding the necessary warmth to the scene. The female form may be one of the most photographed subjects in history and coming up with a fresh new approach to this time-honored subject is often the hardest obstacle a fine art photographer faces when setting out to create a beautiful image. "Afterglow" is available in the 8" X 12" size only, as a handcrafted Giclée print pulled by the artist himself. It is available from a few of the fine art photography galleries that represent the artist or is also available artist-direct right from this web site.
