Freelance Motorsports Racing Photographer NY NJ New England
Looking for a fresh new photographer to add to your motorsports or racing editorial staff as a contributing photographer I might just be your perfect candidate. Why? Experience. I have been a full time working professional commercial photographer for more than 30 years. I’ve pretty much got the whole camera handling and technique thing down. My cameras are like an extension of my body and mind at this stage…everything happening seamlessly. Second nature. Digital manipulation is another strong point of mine. I was editing, retouching and enhancing digital images long before professional photographers started using digital cameras. I was manipulating images in the late 90’s by having my medium format film transparencies scanned on a drum scanner at a pre-press house (remember that?) at astronomical costs but it gave me a great head start and leg up on my competition in terms of digital retouching techniques…one of the most important tools in any photographers skill set these days. Availability. I have all but retired from my former occupation as a full time commercial portrait photographer. I closed my Long Island, NY studio in August of 2017 and now am free to travel around the country, pretty much at will. The only scheduling conflicts I run into these days is in deciding which motorsports racing event I want to cover on any given date. On any given weekend there might be an IMSA event, a NASCAR event, an NHRA event, an Indy Car event and a MotoAmerica event and more to choose from. First come, first served. There is no lack of opportunities in the world of motorsports photography and with no other responsibilities, and the desire to do nothing but photograph motorsports you may find me to be one of the photographers you can count upon the most to bring home the goods for your next project. Passion. I WANT to photograph motorsports. Especially motorcycle and sports car road racing. I enjoy drag racing as well. This picture was taken during the NHRA Mello Yello drag racing series Summernationals at Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ. I have photographed circle track racing and even a Monster Energy Monster Jam monster truck show. I live to photograph racing these days. It is pretty much all I do and all I want to do with a camera in my hand. Finally…I’m a team player.
