Grave Digger Motorsports Pictures Monster Energy Jam
The Monster Jam. One of the most entertaining motorsports events out there for family fun and excitement. There is something about these custom built machines, charging over berms and going airborne that is just so much fun to watch. This image was captured during a free style segment of the Monster Jam competition where there is just a single vehicle on the course at any given time. This is advantageous to the motorsports racing photographer as they can devote their complete attention to the one vehicle that is in motion…usually in a somewhat predictable direction. Capturing one of these massive machines when they are in the air, or performing gravity-defying maneuvers usually results in an image of great impact. Notice how this truck, "Grave Digger", is frozen in time as it flies completely off the ground while it’s tremendous wheels and tires spin rapidly. This photograph was taken at The Nassau County Veteran’s Coliseum in Uniondale, NY on Long Island. Many of the Monster Energy Monster Jam events are indoor arena events. These powerful machines racing on an indoor course are a sight (and a sound) to behold. So what that these machines don’t have the precision…the finesse…of more exotic racing vehicles such as IMSA GT cars or MotoGP Motorcycles. Ultimately all speed contests revolve around the spectators…the fans. And Monster Energy’s Monster Jam Series has a large and loyal fan base to support this sport.
