MotoAmerica MotoGP CCS Superbike Race Photographer

"Poetry in Motion". That is the description I give to a group of synchronized road racing motorcycles hitting the apex of a turn together. The way man and machine act as one. The way the machines seem to defy all the laws of physics as they lean to "impossible" angles at extraordinary velocities. The pure blind faith that the riders have in each other’s abilities as they execute these maneuvers inches away from each other. It’s why motorcycle road racing is my favorite form of motorsports to photograph. Whether it is covering a prestigious racing event for a national magazine or internet based racing news web site, or working on an advertising or public relations project for an individual race team, their corporate sponsors or race series sponsors, I love being on a motorcycle road course. This photograph was taken as a group of racers exited turn 10 on the road course at NHMS (New Hampshire Motor Speedway). New Hampshire Motor Speedway is home to one of the longest running famous motorcycle speed contests in the world: The Loudon Classic; held every year at the end of Laconia Bike Week. It is also home to the Loudon Road Race Series which includes not only different classes and skill levels of motorcycle riders, but also the Legends Cars; billed as one of the most affordable ways to enter the world of competitive motor sports. The road course at Thompson Motor Speedway in Connecticut offers a number of Track Days throughout the season where racers of different skill levels practice their craft between race events. My favorite motorcycle road course, however, is probably the famed Thunderbolt Course at NJMP (New Jersey Motorsports Park) in Millville, NJ. This track hosts a number of races every year for CCS (The Championship Cup Series) and one race for MotoAmerica, the most prestigious sanctioning body for motorcycle racing in the United States. You will find me trackside with my cameras at all of these events this year.
