Motorcycle Road Racing Photographer CCS MotoAmerica

Of all the forms of racing that I photograph the motorcycle speed contests on road courses is probably my favorite. Sure…standing on the starting line of an NHRA Mello Yello drag racing event, when a top fuel dragster or funny car launches is an experience like none other. I’ve photographed two of these national events this year alone… The New England Nationals in Epping, NH and the Summernationals at Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ. Standing alongside the back straight at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut as a Pirelli World Challenge GT car blasts by is pretty exciting too. Being on the floor of an indoor arena as a 2,000 HP, 10,000 LB Monster Jam monster truck leaves the ground is an awesome sight to behold. But there is something about motorcycle road racing that really thrills me. The sheer simplicity of man atop the machine, acting as one. Watching a group of synchronized riders hitting the apex of a turn in unison at extraordinary speeds is a lesson in fearlessness and trust. The expression "poetry in Motion" comes to mind. This image was created on the road course at NHMS (New Hampshire Motor Speedway) as part of the Loudon Road Racing Series. NHMS is also home to one of the most famous motorcycle races in the world… The Loudon Classic…held every year at the end of Laconia Bike Week. As a contributing photographer to many major magazines and internet racing news web sites I am often called upon to cover motorcycle road racing events. In addition to NHMS I have covered moto events on the road course at Thompson Motor Speedway in CT and the famed Thunderbolt Course at New Jersey Motorsports Park…home to a MotoAmerica race and many races in The Championship Cup Series (CCS). All of these tracks are within a few hours drive of my Long Island studio. I am also available for assignment anywhere in the world. If you’re looking for a fresh new approach to motorsports photography give me a call. I would love to collaborate with you on your next magazine editorial project or any advertising and public relations needs for individual race teams and/or their sponsors.
