Stock Images Assignment Motorcycle Racing PhotographerPictured here is the Faith on Wheels Racing team motorcycle carving up the track at New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) during a recent Championship Cup Series (CCS) race weekend. Rider, Lance Yeager, is in the saddle of this potent Kawasaki 250 running in either the Combined Moto 3 or Combined ThunderBike 300 races. The Championship Cup Series is described as follows on their web site: "Founded in 1984, the Championship Cup Series is headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. During our long history, we have become the Leader in Sportsman Level motorcycle road racing offering unrivaled competition at nationwide venues. Our parent company is the American Sportbike Racing Association LLC, owned and operated by Kevin Elliott. CCS Racing offers a professional racing environment for beginning and seasoned riders alike - all centered around increasing the "fun factor" in a safety-conscious atmosphere. With 50+ sanctioned events each year and over $10 million in sponsor contingencies, no one even comes close to offering the opportunities that CCS Racing provides". Motorcycle road racing is probably my favorite motorsports speed contest to photograph. In addition to New Jersey Motorsports Park I have captured road racing motorcycles on the road courses at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS) in Loudon, New Hampshire and at Thompson Motor Speedway in Thompson, Connecticut. In addition to The Championship Cup Series I have photographed events under the sanctioning bodies of MotoAmerica and The Loudon Road Race Series. Most of the times you find me at the track I am credentialed and under assignment from a major international motorcycle magazine or internet based sports news reporting agency. I occasionally go to "Track Days" to practice my craft and interact directly with the riders and the race teams. Only by keeping up with the latest information can a motorsports photographer deliver the right images to a magazine editor, advertising client, motorsports sponsor or public relations firm. During race events I know who to watch, where to watch from and when. Sure, a certain number of the great images I capture will be serendipitous in nature…being in the right place at the right time. True consistency, however, is only achieved by anticipating where the best action will occur and being set up there ready to picture that defining moment. Stay tuned to my Facebook page for up to the minute notices of which racing events I’ll be attending…motorcycle road racing, sports car road racing (The Pirelli World Challenge or IMSA WeatherTech Series), NHRA drag racing and even the occasional Monster Energy Monster Jam monster truck event..
