Collectible Fine Art Photography East Hampton NY Windmill
The Old Hook Mill located in the center of the town of East Hampton, New York. This is just one of dozens of collectible fine art photographs I’ve created on the east end of Long Island, in and around the Hamptons, Montauk Point, Springs, Ditch Plains and Sagaponack. My south fork images have garnered critical acclaim and have hung in juried art exhibits at Guild Hall as well as in other exhibits at Ashawagh Hall and other smaller venues. My images have been offered for acquisition at some of the finest fine art photography galleries in Sag Harbor, New York City (NYC) Boston, Washington DC and Ottawa, Canada. I also offer all of my fine art photography editions artist direct. There is information on how to invest in one of my prints elsewhere on this web site. Old Hook Mill was built in 1806 and was in operation until 1908. In 1922 the windmill was sold to the township of East Hampton. The building was later added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. This black and white image was captured late in the afternoon in the spring of 2005. A large storm had just passed over eastern Long Island and the tumultuous storm clouds moving off can still be seen in the picture as the sun broke through. This image is one of the more popular editions in my body of work. Many copies of this image have already been scooped up by art collectors in the Hamptons as well as at least one distant collector who grew up in the shadow of the Old Hook Mill.
