Collectible Fine Art Photography Hamptons NY Vineyard

"Brave Young Vintage". Another image in my "Perspectives" collection of photographs from the east end of Long Island. A few years back I spent quite a bit of time out in the Hamptons and Montauk on Long Island, New York. A camera was always by my side. One day while returning "Up Island" (the local’s definition of anything west of The Shinnecock Canal) I passed the Wolffer Estate Vineyard in Sagaponack, NY. It was a beautiful spring day with white puffy clouds hovering in a deep blue sky. I pulled my pickup truck off on the side of route 27A (Montauk Highway) and climbed into the back to get a higher angle of view. It’s just a simple shot...nothing really special composition wise (in fact the hard horizontal horizon line in the center of the photograph breaks one of the cardinal rules of photographic composition). But heck...rules are meant to be broken and I liked what I saw. Apparently I wasn’t the only one. This image was one of the first of my pieces offered for sale in the Tulla Booth Gallery of Fine Art Photography in Sag Harbor, NY. It also was one of the first large scale fine art editions I sold...to a local art collector in Bridgehampton, New York. The image was captured on a Nikon DSLR camera with a 24-70mm f2.8 Nikkor zoom lens.
