The excerpt above is the rear cover text from my Amazon #1 best selling road travel book,"Road Work: Images and Insights of a Modern Day Explorer", which is available in paperback and Kindle versions on Amazon as well as on Apple Books. If you love motorcycle travelogues give this one a read. As the author I may be just a little bit biased, but I happen to think it’s a great one.

Not all of the photographic images you see here on my web site were captured on long distance motorcycle adventures. Some were created here on Long Island. New York; and some were made right here in my home town: The Incorporated Village of Northport…where I have lived for more than four decades. "Shimmer" is another dramatic fine art photograph created here. This beautiful scene was captured off the beach at Asharoken, a short, narrow stretch of land located between Northport Village proper and the community known as Eaton’s Neck, New York. Asharoken is bordered by the Long Island Sound on one side and Northport Bay on the other. This photo is actually a composite of two photographic images; the first being a long telephoto shot of the full moon, the second being the silhouette of the sailboat against the shimmering light on the water. The images were captured on a Nikon DSLR camera and Nikkor lenses then composited together using Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop software applications on my Apple MacBook Pro computer. "Shimmer" is offered for acquisition artist-direct and also through the fine art photography galleries that offer my works to collectors. Many copies of "Shimmer" have been sold through a local gallery on Main Street in the Incorporated Village of Northport, a quaint little town full of charming bistros, pubs, souvenir shops and art galleries. This collectible fine art image is one of a handful I’ve created right here in Northport. I have an entire series of images that were captured out on Eastern Long Island in the Hamptons and Montauk. My other collections are of various Long Island scenes outside of Northport and the South fork; and yet another series of images from places much further from my home. The editor of the local arts, fashion and lifestyle magazine publication, LI Pulse, named Michael ONeill (ME!) in her list of "Long Island Artists You Need To Know". That was back in September of 2006 when editor, Nada Marjanovich stated "Land and waterscapes are like a déjá vu experience-only you’ve never seen these unfamiliar places look so good. Mother Nature meant for the world to look the way it does through Michael’s lens". Since that time my fine art photographic prints have been snatched up by savvy collectors. Some of my earlier limited editions are nearly sold out. If you are interested in acquiring a print made by this local, living artist act soon. My photographic images and written words have reached the pages of many magazines and online portals in the photographic, motorcycle, motorsports, travel and hospitality industries. The images you see here on my web site are just a small portion of my body of stock photographic work (all of which is available for sale or lease) and I am available to discuss and undertake any creative project assignment that you may have in mind…preferably ones that can be accessed on two wheels. After all…I’ll use any excuse to ride; and what better reason to ride than one that encompasses all of the things I am passionate about.
