Hatteras Outer Banks OBX Lighthouse Motorcycle Travel Writer Photographer

"When I reach my next OBX stop in Hatteras, NC, I discover that there is actually a Graveyard of The Atlantic Museum where visitors can absorb all the history of the region that they desire. I naturally make a stop in the town of Buxton, NC at Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, the iconic 210 foot tall structure being the tallest brick lighthouse structure in The United States. The clouds from this morning have not dissipated and they once again provide a whimsical backdrop for a photograph; this time suspended over a deep blue midday sky."

-Excerpt from "Road Work: Images and Insights of a Modern Day Explorer"

The excerpt above is from my Amazon #1 best selling road travel book which is available in paperback and Kindle versions on Amazon as well as on Apple Books. If you love motorcycle travelogues give this one a read. As the author I may be just a little bit biased, but I happen to think it’s a great one...This picture was captured on The Outer Banks (OBX) of North Carolina, using a Nikon Z6II mirrorless camera and a Nikkor zoom lens which I carry everywhere in the top case of my BMW F800GT Motorcycle. It was the second lighthouse that I photographed this day on a motorcycle road trip that started on Ocracoke Island and ran the entire length of The Outer Banks (OBX) of North Carolina before turning inland across Roanoke Island and through the open stretches of the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge. The digital image was processed in Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop software on my Apple MacBook Pro laptop computer, which also travels everywhere with me. I like to end my riding days before darkness falls for a number of reasons. First of all the darkness takes away the views of the beautiful scenery that I enjoy so much when I’m riding. Secondly, it is simply safer to ride when the pavement is fully illuminated and any road hazards and nocturnal animals can be avoided. Things that are just an annoyance to drivers of cars can be deadly for two-wheeled travelers. After a day of riding and capturing photographs I tend to relax in my hotel room, cull through the day’s creations and post a couple of pictures of my travels to some choice social media forums made up of like-minded adventure motorcycle tourers. As a photographer, author, writer, long distance motorcycle rider, educator and adventurer I am blessed to travel all throughout the United States and Canada. On this trip, in late summer 2019 I traveled through New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina before turning back north to return to my home on Long Island, New York. Quite an adventure, indeed. These kinds of journeys are what I live for. My photographic images and written words have reached the pages of many magazines and online portals in the photographic, motorcycle, motorsports, travel and hospitality industries. The images you see here on my web site are just a small portion of my body of stock photographic work (all of which is available for sale or lease) and I am available to discuss and undertake any creative project assignment that you may have in mind…preferably ones that can be accessed on two wheels. After all…I’ll use any excuse to ride; and what better reason to ride than one that encompasses all of the things I am passionate about.
