Motorcycle Photographer Author Writer Catskill Mountains Pics and Images

"Numerous trips up and down Route 28 over the years had me quite familiar with the area; but today, with my relatively new rural exploration mindset, I quickly left this main thoroughfare to explore some really remote roads. I ultimately found myself on a gravel road more suited to an adventure motorcycle than my low slung sport tourer, but it leads me to The Palmer Hill Trail, and a glorious scenic view of The Catskill Mountains, making the dicey rough road ride worth the effort. I break out the camera and take a picture of my bike at the top of the trail head with the spectacular Great Western Catskills range as its backdrop. As my fellow BMW club member Gregg A. ("Big Dog") says: "Without pictures it never happened".

-Excerpt from "Road Work: Images and Insights of a Modern Day Explorer"

The excerpt above is from my Amazon #1 best selling road travel book which is available in paperback and Kindle versions on Amazon as well as on Apple Books. The image you are looking at is the one that is described in the text from the book. This is what motorcycle touring and travel looks like to me these days. Gone are the times I used to spend slogging out endless miles on interstates and major thoroughfares; getting as quickly and efficiently as possible to my desired destination. These days I prefer to really experience this wonderful land we live in. I travel the roads less traveled these days and often find myself on paths that can not even be considered roads…unpaved, gravel, dirt, or worse. But it is on these uncharted roads that you find the most beautiful locations, the warmest people and make the greatest memories. Quality, not quantity. Leave the interstates for what they were designed for: people and products that are in a hurry to be somewhere. They offer no views of this beautiful land we live in; rather circumventing it for the sake of expediency. Take your time. It’s not about the destination it’s about the journey…unless, of course, you’re just a pallet full of merchandise that is scheduled to arrive in some big box retail outlet by a specified date. Enjoy the ride…enjoy the journey…soak up every bit of the experience because you may never travel this path again. The photograph you are looking at is in the western range of The Catskill Mountains of New York. It was captured using a Nikon mirrorless camera and a Nikkor zoom lens which I carry everywhere in the top case of my BMW motorcycle. The digital image was processed in Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop software on my Apple MacBook Pro laptop computer, which also travels everywhere with me. As a photographer, author, writer and adventurer I am blessed to travel the United States and Canada in the saddle of my motorcycle. My photographic images have graced the pages of many magazines and online resources in the photographic, motorcycle, motorsports, travel and hospitality industries. The images you see here on my web site are just a small sample of my stock photography library (all of which is available for sale or lease) and I am available to discuss and undertake any creative project assignment that you may have in mind.
