"Taughannock Falls". This image was captured from a scenic overlook in Taughannock Falls State Park, a 750-acre NewYork State park located in Tompkins County, NY. The park is northwest of the city of Ithaca, home to Cornell University, in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. Taughannock Falls, has a 215-foot (66 m) plunge that makes it the highest single-drop waterfall east of the Rocky Mountains! Even the infamous Niagra Falls doesn’t compare to the sheer drop of Taughannock Falls. This image was created while I was visiting the Finger Lakes region to deliver an educational program to two local affiliate sections of the Professional Photographers Society of New York State (PPSNYS). The morning after my appearance I went off in search of many of the area’s waterfalls. Elsewhere on this site you will find other waterfall images from this trip including the Lower Falls at Robert H. Treman State Park and Hector Falls on the west side of Seneca Lake. An image from the falls at Delhi, NY, in the Catskill Mountains, can also be found on this site. All of my fine art photography editions are available to collectors from the various fine art galleries that offer my work or they can be acquired artist direct right here by contacting me through this web site.
